Default Hooray.. Dyno sheet

Finally got it done. With the Heavy Breather and V&H Comp. 2-1 exhaust, there is a dip in the torque between 2500 and 3300 RPM. Not really able to "tune it out" but its not a bad set of numbers.

2009 Nightster 1200
Screamin Eagle Heavy Breather
Vance and Hines Competition Series 2-1
PCV

Nothing else.

I don't have one to compare, but I am very surprised at the curve. That looks a lot like a 2:2 curve. They say that the 2:1 are supposed to get rid of that dip and make a nice "flat top hump" looking torque curve. It could be the PCV. From what I have read over on the XLForums, the best tuner by far is the Screamin Eagle Pro Super Tuner. People have got into the 80s with it and shortshots and sideshots.

Regardless good #'s man maybe try some SE plug wires the better spark may allow a Lil more timing and may smooth things out??

Not bad number IMO. Better then what my bike is doing and you can see my mods in my sig. The dyno that my bikes was tuned on did not have a brake on it so that might have something to do with it? Oh well it was only an $80.00 tune and i needed it to get the air/fuel correct. I got 67.5 HP and 71.3 TQ

+1 on the SEST. I have the K&N intake and debaffled stock mufflers on my N'ster w/ the SEST and it pulled 80 HP. I have seen a couple of 81s. FYI it also raises the rev limiter to 7000 rpm. The dyno was shutting down around 6400 rpm so mid 80s should be possible at 7000.

+20 hp over stock ain't bad

+1 Fox4
2:2 pipes do tend to have a dip or two in their tq curve, BUT short 2:1 systems can have the same. Nice long pipes, and not too little resistance on the intake side seem to make curves much smoother. My 2-1 is actually shorter than the shortshots, but not by much. New pics to come.

We worked on it for bout 2 hours, and that dip aint goin anywhere. The V&H Comp 2-1's still have a pretty short baffle. Big torque difference over my sideshots. The pull is much stronger and consistent. I have also heard that running the stock cams/ springs over 6500 rpm is not the best thing. I told my tuner to keep it at 6400.

Anywho, next on the list is Thunderstorm heads, and cams (N3's maybe). Well see where that takes it.

Here is my Dyno chart from the 1,000 mile maintenance. Although the stage 1, Shortshots and SE pro tuner were done at delivery they waited until after the maintenace to do the dyno. I'd like to see a stock chart for comparison. It might be tough to read: Max HP = 75.62, max torque = 73.81

By the way where do you find instructions for imbeding an image in a post rathar than as an attached thumbnail?
