Default Had an accident

hey guys ...
i dont know where 2 start
i went 2 pick up my bike on tuesday from the dealers...so me the genius decided 2 pick it up on rush hour time ...turn on the bike ..never ridden bike over 125cc ..me thinking ya the clutch and acceleration works the same ...
go on the turn release the clutch the way id release a 125cc bike bang hit the side of a moving car ...look at my left hand pinky is cut off!!! they find the tip of my pinky ...on the ground rush me 2 hospital ...stitch it back ..
i come back for the police report ...my bike they need 2 change the whole front ...fender bar ..no scratches on the engine or anything ...just the whole front piece is gone ...brand new bike ...i didnt even ride it 100 metres ...
it hurts but i cant b p!ssed cuz i guess **** happens...im just angry at myself for being so stupid ..but im lucky that i got away with no broken bones ...the clutch hit the car it got between the hand controls i guess ripped it off,,,

my insurance company is probably cursing me ...
its costing 5 thousand dollars for repair i dont know how i guess the shipping and handling cuz im in the middle east...
my bikes going 2 b in repair for a month ...the whole front needs to b replaced my tank got a small dent 2
im too embarrassed to go and check on it ...it happened rite outside the showroom!!!!!

im a bit terrified 2 get back on it ...but i guess i need 2 ...this time im going 2 b paying a guy from HOG who specializes on teaching on how 2 ride ..to teach me ....

ill try 2 going and taking a pic of my bike this week for now i only have a pic of my finger lol which looks like frankensteins head with the stitching round it

A lot of people take for granted the skill it takes to ride a motorcycle, glad to here you are okay, and happy to hear you are going to get back on it after an incident like that.

I agree. Stupid move.

But don't let it get you down. I could 'out-stupid' you any day of the week. We've all done dumb things. The important thing is if we learn from our mistakes. By the steps you're taking to improve your skills...it sounds like you'll be fine.

all the best to you and your finger,

ride safe,

Well we all have done dumb stuff and sill again I'm sure. I have read alot this season about people wrecking there new bikes on the way home. I guess yoou just need to learn to ride more before you go out in traffic. All bike react diffeant and you have to be ready for that. Hope your finger heals up fast.

Ive ridden alot of bikes in my life and none of them were HD's esp the touring bikes...I like to think Im a natural on a bike and for the most part I am,...but let me tell ya the first real life ride on a HD touring bike in heavy traffic can be a little hairy, she dont stop on a dime like my sport bike does, she dont accelerate as easily and all this requires me to change my previous riding habits significantly.. I need to be more defensive on the HD, specifically when nearing and passing thru intersections and merging onto highways. However, its a tradeoff I'm more than willing to make at this point in my life.....

Hope your finger heals quick......

Are there riding classes available there? A lot of people make the mistake of thinking riding street is exactly like riding dirt......when in reality it's not. If you have the option you may want to think about it.

edit: just re-read your post. is that 125 dirt or small street bike? Either way, it seems some practice on a bigger, more powerful and heavier bike before you get back in traffic would be good.

Dude you are positive! but not realistic.

Sorry... but I hear this crap all the time.
A plane crashes ...100 people die ...and the one survivor says "Praise the Lord!" again here...positive...but stupid..nieve and extremely selfish.

a rant on religion but you started it and I had to respond
