Default Ape hanger size and comfort?

I just got an 07 XL 1200C and was thinking of putting on some ape hangers. I'm 6'3 and was wondering if it was a good thing to do for comfort. I like the look just don't want to be uncomfortable. any suggestions?

Thanks.

I have an 07 1200 low and love it. I just installed some mini apes on it a few weeks ago... took it on a couple day trips.. couple hundred miles and love em. Now im on the shorter side at only 5'6" lol but it lets me lean back just enough were there is no back tension. I also Installed a riser/speedo assy off of a custom to bring the bars up and back just a bit aswell. Worked great for me! But to each there own.

I have 14" Burly narrow glide apes. They are amazing. This is my 3rd set of bars and by far the best for being cool and comfortable. I'm 5'8" I think. So you might be able to go as high as 16" or even 18" and be just fine. With your size I think the mini apes (12") wouldn't be tall enough.

I have an 05 1200C. I switched the risers and speedo mount for a 1200L and put on 16" Burley narrow glides and love them. I'm 5'7", and my hands are at my shoulders and very comfortable.

5'7 with 16 inch apes and they are shoulder height? Strange, these are 13.5 and they are shoulder height for me and I'm 5'10. I know the bikes are different but i figured it would be pretty close to the same. I guess my seat sits lower or maybe I just have a short upper body.

I Had custom apes built for me at my specs, I got them at 16" on my nightster. I'm a hair under 6'4". Only problem is I should receive the bars today in the mail so I havent used them yet. I will post pics as soon as I can once They are on my bike and I get a few rides out of her.

I have 12" HD minis on my Iron, and they are perfect for me. I'm only 5'8" and funny built (short legs and longer torso), so for your height, the 16's sound like they would be perfect. You should find someone on here that lives near you or check a dealership with pre-owned bikes and test it out.
