When mine first started doing it at 1,500 miles I worried and fully expected it get louder over time, but it has stayed exactly the same. I have used Harley Syn 3, Amzoil 20w50 and now RevTech 20/50 with the 35 micron filter the sound has not changed one bit.

Yes the ticking you can hear is perfectly normal.
As you may be aware, over the last few years, Harley Davidson have embraced and incorporated some modern technology into the design of their bikes. Including things like Fuel Injection.
However, this also extends into other less talked about areas including the built in obsolescence which has now been computerised in order to make it more reliable. The ticking sound you can hear is the countdown to the hour when the wheels drop off. I could tell you when that will be, but it would spoil the suprise.
For the avoidance of doubt by anyone this IS a JOKE and not intended to cause offence.
Mine makes a similar noise and continues to do so for quite some time after a ride as everything cools down.
