I'm a new Harley rider, just got my 883c in may & have 3000 miles on it so far. Love the bike, it has all the style & power I want.
My question is about "the wave", I've had some longtime, diehard Harley riders say that you should only give "the wave" to other Harleys. I give the wave to all riders, Harley, Metric cruisers, crotch rockets, dual sport & even scooters. I think anyone on 2 wheels deserves a little respect.
What's your opinion?

I'm with you. I'm not a Harley snob. I've owned all types of bikes sence I was 12 years old. Motorcycles are motorcycles. They are all fun. Everyone is into something different. I used to tere up the streets with a crotch rocket. It was a lot of fun (but really dagerous)! Now I'm an old fart and I like to cruise up and down the coast on my harley. Although, I do still like to run the twisties in the mountains every now and then. That's why I love my Sporty!. I look down on no one. Like you said, two wheels are two wheels.

Well there's two types of people that would tell you not to wave to anyone but a Harley - RUB's buying the name, and the 1%ers who are too tough to wave to anyone else.
Hell, there's BT riders who won't wave to Sporty's. Some people need to get their heads removed from their rectums. Wave to whoever you want and nobody you don't want to, but to say I'll wave to Harley riders, but not Triumph riders is stupid.

I wave to eveyone riding on two wheels. The Harley's, Japanese bikes, Italian bikes, the kids ditch riding dirt bikes & always the young ones on thier bicycles. I've had kids wave to me from thier cars on the freeway & I wave back. Doesn't hurt to be sociable cuz you might need thier help sometime. It may help remove the bad biker image too. Just my 2 cents.
