No Front Brake!!

cHarley - thx fo rthe reply, the fact that color changes over time makes me feel a little better, or at least there is hope. I understand they can't be mixed but if it did have 3 or 4, it's too late I filled the MC last night when I tried to purge/bleed the line. If it is mixed, what's the cure?

No need to drain master, once the air is out you can start pumping new DOT-5 thru until you are happy with the color coming out of bleeder. Alternative here is to disassemble calipers to make sure no old fluid is left in there, I'd probably go this route, this would be also a good opportunity to clean and grease pistons.

People have been successful though with totally disassembling everything and throughly flushing everything out with a solvent, like brake cleaner, and letting it dry completely.

Alright, gonna go home in 15 minutes, pick up a bleeder, take the calipers off, clean 'em up good, grease the pistons, and bleed it. Appreciate all the input. I'll let you all know how it goes/went. if you don't hear from me tonight, that means I did somethign wrong, the brakes failed, and I died.
