There's a smaller/simpler fairing as well... I can't find the link on HD's site but it's shown in the catelog.

Well I can tell you that the visor does block SOME wind but it is very minimum. A windshield (even a small one)will definitely do much better than this but (if you want wind protection) but then again it won't look as cool
The wind does not feel as strong right around my chest as it did before so I assume the visor is cutting some wind but again a minimal amount, still it is better than nothing.

I want one for the looks and to hide that God-awful speedo mount. But, I saw a guys thread on here the other day that did a headlight raise and it covers it and looks pretty cool. Maybe not AS cool, but around $214 cooler.....

Default Here is mine :)

Just finished some small trims in my Sportster and I thought to post some pics here, since this post in this forum was my main "inspiration"
Many thanks to bolillo57 Your pics and directions (specially these for the Dyna bolts) were very helpfull

Sportster 883 2007 model by US standards (year of manufacture) 2009 model by world standards (day of first registration). Bought in London UK July 2010, riden to Greece and re-register in Athens Greece.
Allready done: Headlamp Visor, Chin Spoiler, Black Air filter cover, K & N Air Filter, Passenger pillion, Tank Bra, Licence plate bag
Still to come: Forward controls, Lower rear suspension, Vance & Hines exchaust, Arlen Ness mirrors, maybe a better dual seat -any suggestions?-

From what I've read, you're correct.

Kostas and bolillo57: I have a couple of questions.

1. Does the metal visor/hood over the headlight stay on under the fairing or does it need to come off?
2. Where does the fairing bolt on the bike?

The speedo visor/hood stays intact under the visor.
Visor has a bracket that bolts to the handlebar clamp with 2 bolts then it uses 3 shorter bolts to attach the visor to the bracket.

Here you can see the bracket along with the stock Sportie speedo prior to me adding the XR1200 bracket with mini tach:
