Default widest front tire

was wondering what would be the the widest i could go on the my front of my 2005 1200 custom without changing my rim ,i have 8000 miles on stock tire and thick its time for a new one soon

With the skinny 2.15" wheel you're pretty much stuck with the stock 90.

charlie would you go with the metzeler even having the dunlop on the rear,do you thick a metzler tire same size would last longer

There's no question IMO that the Metz 880 is a much better tire, mileage & handling wise, than the stock Dunlops. You won't have any problem running a Metz with the Dunlop rear.
