This guy on a Fat Bob says he can smoke me on a drag and in the twisties too. What do you guys think. I'm running V&H slipons with SE Heavy Breather and V&H Fuelpak. I'm sure he could beat me in a drag race but not the twisties. My nephew has a older 1200 Gold Wing with a 16 inch front wheel and he says I take off and leave him on the twisties. Oh the guy on the fat Bob also says my Sporty is a girls bike, go figure. I told him I see girls riding all Harleys, but I see more girls riding Fat Bobs.

Certainly you have been here long enough to see enough threads just like this one, there are usually 2 or 3 every month. Is it a girls bike? Is it faster than a Fat Bob? Softail? Street Glide? Ninja? Etc, etc.....

I think alot depends on skills of the rider. Given similar abilities, I think the Fat Bob would smoke you on the drag and beat you on the twisties. I have seen 1200 Sporties with a little internal work lay it on some big twins, even on drags. The handling of the Fat Bob is pretty good with that fat front tire.

That said, I'm more the type to just enjoy the ride and not worry about those other things. I see more chicks riding Softails than Sporties anyhow.

 

Fat Bob probably had the the whole HD wardrobe goin' on too. Right down to his panties!
Just tell him that you're secure enough in your "manliness" to ride a "girls bike" and you got nothing to prove.
