Default 2009 Sportster XL883L Froward Control/w Engine Guard

I just purchased a 2009 HD Sportster XL883L. The bike has the engine guard already on it. All I am looking to do is move my pegs, shifter, and brake forward about 2" to clear the putting down the kickstand without having to lift the peg. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a bunch. This is my first bike ever. I have been saying for 5 years I was gonna get my own bike, but husband didn't care for the idea. I found a great deal and couldn't pass it up. Now I just need to figure out how to extend the pegs and controls. Can't put forward controls on because of the engine guard. GRRR

Congrats on the bike! I have an 09 Sportster 883 custom and it's a fantastic ride.
Not quite sure what you mean about having to lift the peg to put the kickstand down?
As for putting on forwards, you may very well be able to, even with the engine guard. Some will work with forwards; I have a Kuryakyn adjustable highwaybar on mine with forwards and it works fine.
Either way, moving the controls for easier access to the kickstand is the expensive way to solve the problem, unless you're moving the controls to fit you better. You can get an extender to mount on the end of the kickstand that will clear the engine case a bit further, and should let you get your boot on it without moving anything out of the way. Moving your controls can get $$$ real quick.

Congrats on your ride.. Welcome to the family of those who ride our own. Make sure you check out the queens of the road section. It is the girls locker room (LOL) around here.
I am not sure what you mean about needing to move a peg to put down kicxkstand. In fact I am hoping I am misunderstanding you since that sounds dangerous.
Anyhow I have a 08 883 custom and love it.

The forward controls work just fine with the HD engine guard.
