stalls at lights
I have a 06 1200c with just over 2000miles, bike has been running perfect, still does, only issue now is at traffic lights when I take off or give it thottle bike stalls out, it fires right back up but this is uncomfortable feeling. I am a new rider, is this normal for HD, plugs look perfect, and I keep the bike maintained as per specs I do not abuse it in any way. Any comments would be apperciated.

RE: stalls at lights
my 883c would stall at lights unless i gave it a bit of throttle to keep it ticking over, i adjusted the idle screw and it is now ok, get the bike at running temp and with a long screw drivre look for the screw head on the right side of the bike at the carb then adjsut it till it increases in revs slightly.
May work,
Good luck

RE: stalls at lights
bike idles fine, it does not stall at every light, it seems like when I thottle to take off that it floods, so I'm at lights revving it,( feel like a dork or a show off because of the pipes) so when I do leave the light it does not stall. Seems to do it the most when I am seating at lights just idling and thottle to take off.

RE: stalls at lights
My 883 has stalled several times when I pulled the clutch in.Seems to have stopped doing it for now.My wife also has a 883 and we both need to rev it a little after a long idle time to clear out the engine.I can't understand why you would feel like a dork reving a loud Harley. You should be proud it intimidates most people in cars next to you.My neighbors probably hate me because we are always reving up our bikes and yesterday we both lost the baffles so they are quite loud now.One thing I don't really understand is why my V&H slip ons are louder than her SE2's with the baffles out.Maybe it has something to do with the diameter of the mufflers.

I also have V&H short shots, do not get me wrong I love the sound and am very proud of my Harley and it's sound, totally awesome. Just sitting at a light reving seems kind of a show off. I guess I will try adjusting idle alittle more, but seems to idle fine, its just the thottling on green lights that disappoints me. Like they say welcome to the world of carb farts.

Maybe you need a rejet then.I personally don't care about the people near me in cages or on bikes other than a Harley. You deserve to show off if that's what you want to call it.Most bikers want to be on a Harley but don't want to pay the price. You need to get the Harley attitude and not worry about what other people think of you and your bike. You are an American riding an American bike so show your pride and rev your bike up.If you are ever near Pittsburgh Pa look me up we will ride together, you,me and my wife.

I did rejet, did everything by the book I did all the work myself feel confident in my abilities, have all the manuals and tools. Had bad experience with stealer they will never touch my bike again. It does not happen all the time I guess I can live with it till figure it out. I am a proud owner maybe I need to let loose alittle and enjoy the sound, it is awesome.
