Question how to get to forward bolt on 1200N exhaust!

Folks,

I am going to change my exhaust on my 2008 1200N, and can see that I can get to the bolts on the exhaust easily when the covers are off the exhaust. EXCEPT one front bolt which is behind a finned sections of the motor (not a mechanic type here)!

How do you get to the one bolt on the front exhaust? I have friends helping, but we are not sure how to get to the bolt or what can be removed to get to it? If need be I can post pictures! Thanks in advance!

Only way I've been able to get to that nut is with a quarter inch ratchet, 4 inch extension and a socket.

Might try a wobble extension also. It gives a bit of flexbility without the problems that a universal joint gives.

+1 this is how I got mine off last week. The socket just barely fits when put in at the appropriate angle.

Not to be mean but, you didn't put a heat shield on it first did you? That would make it next to impossible to get at. If not the others above have given you some great advice.

No I was just eyeballing it before starting next week, I will have to take the heatshields off the stock pipes to get to the bolts though.
