So then, of course the XR had you beat. And an stock XR vs another stock 1200 would be nearly a tie. The XR may be a little lighter, but same drivetrain, same power numbers.

XR1200 has the buell 1200 lightened flywheel, 2 into 1 ceramic pipes and .551 cams ontop of the weight reduction, suspension upgrades. the XR1200 will smoke any regular 1200 without even trying just like my 883 powered by a buell 1200 smoked regular 1200s all around, dude you REALLY REALLY have to go testdrive one of these XR1200s yourself or at least talk to a XR1200 owner these bikes are a quantum leap above and beyond regular 1200s

Dono the current size specs, but if your 883 pulley is larger, then you will be geared "lower" in every gear. Lower will wind up quicker and run higher RPM's at the same speed as a taller (smaller) rear pulley.

Will lower gearing effect top speed? Not necessarily slower, unless you can still hit the rev limiter in 5th gear with taller gearing. Indeed, sometimes lower gearing will allow for a higher top speed because the gearing makes up for wind resistance and allows the engine to rev higher in top gear. Horsepower of course making up a large part of this equation as well.

You'll want the front sprocket, not the rear.

Thanks, Rob. Will that increase my top speed?

Default Let me add up my cost for you my 2010 iron conversion

V-Twin 883 to 1200 conversion kit $450, Cometic gasket set $120, Ferrea valves $160, Energy One clutch diaphram spring $30, H-D SuperTuner $450, Valve job $80, Porting and polishing (my time and labor), Installation (my time and labor), Dyno tuning $450. THAT'S $1730.00
If you have an EFI motorcycle the only way to tune it is on the dyno and you have to purchase the VCI (H-D SuperTuner hardware). No if's and's or but's.

I hate to throw this out there but it is a 2010... Why didn't you just buy a 1200 if you wanted one?
