Default Ready to Purchase 883L .....Advice ?

Hello HD Owners
Ready to purchase a '09 - 883L in the next day or two......but wanted some comments from any 883L owners out there ......I'm a 5'2" rider and have been looking at bikes for a few months. The HD's seem to be the best fit. This is an upgrade from a 250cc. Have been riding for about 3 yrs. Any of your thoughts would be appreciated, and how you like your Sporty ! Thanks. Razz

the 883L is a fun bike, see if you can balance the nightster before you settle on the low......they seem very close on the height of the seat....resale, trade of the nightster will be a little better for you...again the 883L is fun, that is the way we went.... wished I would have gone the nightster route...

I went from a 250cc to a 883xl also, I got on ten minutes after it was delivered, it was an awesome bike, a litte top heavy and I didn't like the small tank,
I rode the sporty for af months and traded it, I have a new fatboy lo now, I would check out the nightster like the last poster said first befor you jump into the sporty, I am just a little under 5'2" the low fits me better the the sporty, the seat is on 24.5" tall.

Id say the larger tank is nice on some of the other models... as well as resale. But all in all the 883 is pretty good.. my first bike was an 04 883 custom. Put about 12 thousand miles on her before i traded up to a 07 1200 low. Dont think ill ever get rid of this one though. The 883 was great for one person. Just not riding 2 up. But should be great for ya. If you ever want to ride any distance, opt for the larger tank... good luck and ride safe!

I liked my 883L well enough to put 65,000 miles on it, before converting the engine to a 1250.
