There is another current thread in the General section of the forum, about using Lemon Pledge on your bike. As with almost any product, there are those that are believers and those that aren't, but take the time to read through This Thread and make up your own mind before you drop the next $20.00 bill on a shelf full of cleaning products.

If nothing else, borrow the can from the OL when she's not looking and give it a try.

You have to really be careful when using Blue Magic and other metal polishes. It will wear down the chrome finish and expose the nickle. My father-in-law showed me a trick they use for the show cars. They use Blue magic when detailing cars. It'll take the slight swirls and minor scratches out of paint. We would color sand, then use polishing compound, then the Blue Magic, Resin Glaze, and then the wax (Blitz Wax is the best).

It doesn't fell abrasive but it does have an abrasiveness to it.
I use McGuires Quick Detail on the chrome. You just have to make sure to wipe it off really well.

everytime my wife needs her lemon pledge it's in th garage. I use it on the whole bike for a quick wipedown if it's not to dirty. If it's muddy then it gets a bucket and a sponge.

windex does work well... learned this from a hog friend many many years ago. easy to carry on the bike and easy to use.
chrome polishes do a better job it you have any hard to remove stuff or pitting.
after i ride, i wipe down the bike with a quick detail spray and if i see any pitting, i grab my chrome polish.
on the chrome wheels, i like wheelwax. got it for the cage, but it is not such a great product for those wheels. but its a fantastic product on chrome wheels, like on my bike.

I hadn't heard of this. Since I'm a Lemon Pledge user, I Googled it. It does have acetic acid listed as an ingredient. Lemon Pledge does not. Lemon Pledge seems to be mostly water with a little wax. I like the Lemon. I'm not a chemist.
