harley really hasn't been inovative (coming up with thier own ideas, they have been very inovative in finding what others are doing on forums and such and copying them) with sportys for a long time IMO.

They are just doing what we (bike owners) have been doing for years... swapping parts from other bikes to make ours different. Funny thing is, they (Dealers) think it's a new innovative idea. From what I have seen in the dealerships, sales people and service dept. people don't see much past the showrom. When I took mine in for waranty work, seemed like they thought it was the coolest bike they have ever seen. They had to call everyone in from the sales dept. to look at what this guy did to his nightster. Heck, alot of the guys that work at the dealerships don't even ride. The salesman that sold me my bike said he has never ridden on a motorcycle in his life. I think alot of them are very sheltered.

I wouldn't buy a bike from a salesperson that's never ridden one. Can you imagine buying a car from a guy that's never driven? Personally I would think twice about buying a bike from any dealership that hires salespeople that aren't riders. Apparently they only care about making a sale.

how was that jackass even hired to work there if he's never ridden a bike before? you'd think that would be a prerequisite but i guess not.

I guess their thinking is that a good salesman can sell anything even if they don't know what it is that they are selling.
Hence the name "Professional Bullshi**er"
