Tail light removal help

Default Tail light removal help
Started working on the Nighterization chop of my rear fender but noticed what looks like a circuit board glued in the tail light that the signals and tail light and main harness plug into. Is it OK to just chop off the ends and solder the connections or does that board do something other than act as a distribution panel?
