I put a larger fairing on mine, and it really cuts the wind. It's an old obsolete Tracy fairing for Sportsters, so finding one is the hard part.

Yes, that is so true. Took mine off twice before it hit me to add the "DYNA ONLY" spacers to get rid of the gap and get everything lined up right. Once aI got the "gap" thing handled I had to adjust the height of the headlamp, that was another exercise in patience. Once I got it all figured out, I made sure everything was tight and cleaned her up. One thing I am going to do is drill a hole thru the mount to run the clutch cable thru, had to reroute mine to in front of the handlebars to clear but don't really like the way it looks. I'll be sure to get pics when I do it.

Oh and SamCro had nothing to do with my choice of adding a fairing to my Iron. I have always like the way they looked on the old drag bikes and from the time I saw it on that movie "Black Rain" with Michael Douglas & Andy Garcia. Plus coming from sport bikes I always liked the fairings.

I didn't even know what SOA was...got sat tv, always watchin' movie channels, or the science/learning channels. Rode the bike into work and a coworker commented on SOA and I said "huh"... went and bought the 1st season dvds to see what it was about. I like the show, but it's a show. Big ole biker soap opera.

That's a coincidence - the old fairing I have on mine is a Tracy "Black Rain" fairing. Tracy made the bodywork for the Sportster used in the movie and marketed copies of the seat and fairing. I missed getting a Black Rain seat/tailpiece on eBay a few years ago, and it's the only one I've ever seen there. I did get a fairing, though...
