I just removed some boot from my pipes using some Goof Off and a little elbow grease. It came right of and did not scratch the chrome at all.

Oven cleaner but be very careful not to get any on painted parts.
I have also used a magic eraser for small scuffs.

You can use a true copper penny, pre 1974. It's softer than the chrome so it won't scratch. My buddy burnt a microfiber cloth to his pipes, made a huge FN mess and used a pre 1974 penny to clean them up. It took him a bit but it worked beautifully.

I used my die grinder with polishing wheel and green rouge. It worked great and quick. Just make sure you apply the rouge to the polishing wheel and not the pipes.

Warm up the pipes and use aluminum foil.

Get the pipes hot and hit them with some fine steel wool,
