Has anyboday attempted to put one of the Cross Bones (spung solo) seat onto a sportster (low) ..? I'm looking at buying the new "Iron" model...but love the look of the sprung seat..I even "photoshopped" it on to the Iron...and it looks way cool..! Just want to know if I buy a Cross Bones nsprung seat..abd ship it all the way back to Melbourne (Australia)..I can get it to fit somehow.. Any help appreciated..

I'm sure if you're determined enough, ingenious enough and have the $$ to throw at it for some fabrication costs, you could MAKE it work...
Don't know that it'd be worth the hassle, but who knows? I read something on another forum in the last couple of weeks re: mounting a sprung seat on a sporty. I'll see if I can find the link

here's the thread I was thinking of. I don't think it's a crossbones seat, but it is sprung

I would think that the cross bones seat would be too wide too make it look good
In the 2010 catalog there is a spring seat for the sportster, but it cost 269.95 for the seat and 229.95 for the install kit. ( PN 54072-10 & 54074-10)
I doubt ya wanna spent that kinda $$ but there's alway after-market.

Iron with Cross Bones seat !
Yeah it may well be too wide and big in the flesh...might try to at least see on on a Cross bones first..then decide..
Here's my "virtual" instalation anyway: http://i225.photobucket.com/albums/d...omseatonly.jpg
