Default Confused

Have 2009 silver, pewter, etc 883 Iron bought new in July of 2009. Has 4000+ miles on it.

Question: Cannot seem to get the clunk out of the front end when driving over rough pavement. I have tightened the triple tree bolt 3x but seems to loosen up after a few hunderd miles.

Anyone have sugestions (besides going to dealer)?

I changed the fork oil a few months ago but it did not help that much.

Help much appreciated.

Thanks,

Alan

Doesn't the clunk mean you're just bottoming out?

I have heard the clunk went it hit potholes as well, i assummed the front bottomed out. Asked the dealer about it when i had the 1000 mile check. Was told that the noise was normal.

This is a common problem with 06, 07 Dynas.
Go to the Dyna Forum and search 'front end clunk' & you'll get lots of reading.
HD has issued a standard service bullatine for it.... which involves changing a flat washer.
