Spark plug time
#11
This question may be a little off topic, but it concerns spark plugs so I will ask it. I was told if you use a fuel stablizer during the winter, you need to change plugs in the spring when you start rideing after you get the fuel stablizer ran through the system. I was just wondering if this is true, or change them only when you need them. I wasn't given a reason, I was just told to change them.

I've never seen any factual data that supports the need to change plugs because the fuel has had stabilizer in it. I have a standby generator that sits fueled with stabilizer added year round and it never has any problem starting and running when I fire it up every couple of months.
I suspect that for those that have to put there bikes away for the winter, changing to a fresh set of plugs in the spring is just a way to ensure that they don't have to worry about them wearing out during the riding season.
