Go synthetic on the 1000 mile service and never look back.

I feel going synthetic is ok at the 1000 mile mark. The dealer told me to wait until at least 2500 miles....Who knows anymore????

Me... never!

I just can't see the extra cost for something that you are going to drain and throw away.

Yeah... Yeah.... I know all supposed benefits of synthetic...

I just don't believe it...

The V Rods and Screamin' Eagle bike come with Syn 3 from the factory, you can put it in at 1000 mile service.

DC

PS, yes you will throw it away ,but it withstands higher heat than dino oil, it's better than throwing away your motor!

The dealer doing my 1,000 service uses synthetics for everything at 1,000 miles.

It may do as you say... I'll take your word for it...

But I've never used synthetic and never blew a motor or had it wear prematurely... Go figure!!!

Just curious, as I've never asked anyone up at the KC HD plant, but what oil does Harley use in the new Sportster engines when the bikes are delivered to the dealers?
