Default Modifying stock mufflers?

My wifes got a 2010 Iron 883 that sounds like a freakin lawn mower. The baffles on the stock mufflers are not removable so I was wondering if there is anything I can do to give them a little sound for now until I get some slip-ons or pipes for her?

Thanks in advance, JB

You can take a hole saw and and drill out the stock baffle. Here is a youtube video on how to and tools needed.

My neighbor did just that, cut them out and put a bolt at the end to act as a homemade back pressure or torque cone.
They sound very good and his performance did not diminish.
His bike is a '05 1200C
