Well end result I just punched out that metal piece in the baffles...Not what I wanted to do but the way they manufactured these mufflers I think the intent was to make that baffle extremely difficult to remove...IDK It sounds a little better for now I guess??

What is the purpose for that stupid crossover tube or whatever it is?? Is this some Kind of emissions joke or what?? That thing is a pain is the A$$ Is it really necessary?? I have a nice set of Rush Slip-on that came off of my bike that I woudl love to find a way to stick on hers but IDK with that tube and all if it would even be feasible?

Dude, they are very easy to remove. Bust the weld and out they come.

On yours the crossover is attached to the muffler not the head pipe?

The crossover isn't necessary but helps equalize the exhaust, like a lame 2 into 1.

I thought about doing this too...I hate the way thoughs F'rs are tapered at the ends. I guess I could take them off put'em on the chop saw and done deal then pull out whats leaft of the baffle...We are leaving town on a ride tomorrow but I may do this when we get back.

Jack, is there any easy way to get that crossover tube off? I think I could build a mount to use those Rush Mufflers I've got...

Doing this sounds better than simply punching a hole through the center of the baffle. It adds to the rumble without being too loud if you aren't into loud pipes. Try it, you'll like it.
My neighbor did the hole saw and I admit, it sounds as good if not better than my Cycle Shack 130t mufflers. Plus it was damn near free!
His only other mod was to put a bolt in the ends of the mufflers, kind of like a homemade torque cone.

So if I do this same thing you say as far as busting the weld & removing the baffle altogether, is it just that simple? No adjustments, rejetting the carb etc.? Am I looking at any changes after removing the baffle aside from sound? I was about to purchase sum slipons or drags myself but if its as you say then screw spending money. So in short is it safe to remove and just continue riding as normal? I dont have to have any adjustments made to my carb?
