Pull the left side cover. You will see the battery with a bracket holding it in place. On the bottom of the bracket is a bolt. Remove that and the bracket. Then disconnect the positive and then the negative. That is it. Take that mother to get checked.
+1 I ran it to this all last summer.. like they said.. check your connections.. clean them good.. and reconnect them.. if that still doesn't help.. get a new battery..
My issues ended up being the battery.. after I replaced it.. I haven't had any issues since..
Had the same problem so I bought one of those battery chargers connected it and in 90 seconds it started up. Try that first instead of getting a new one - those chargers come in real handy and it might save you a new battery. Just be careful that once it charges your battery and starts it up that it will start again later on. Mine had no issues so it means that the alternator is working fine...
How long was it sitting? Mine did that last winter. The clock will run the battery down, especially when it's cold. Battery ended up so dead it wouldn't take a charge. Got a new battery and a battery tender, no more problems. I live only 3 miles from my job so the alternator can't charge the battery. So I just plug in my bike when I get home, full charge when I get up. And if it sits, the tender maintains the charge. Real nice to have.
