Default Are drag bars with no risers still comfortable for long rides?

Hello riders,

I am planning on getting drag bars for my nightster and was wondering how comfortable they are on long rides. For those that have them, how long did you ride for?

Also, I want to keep them pretty short and read that a 27" bar with 4" pullback kept things tight and made it difficult to mount the controls. Any suggestions on the length?

Thanks y'all!

I've got that exact setup on my Shovel and I can sit on her all day. Have to keep the riser bolts tight or the bar swings down when I'm kicking it and bangs into the tanks, but other than that...no problems.

I am running clip-on's UNDER the top tree! I rode from OKC to Fayeteville AR. and back no prob. But I'm sure this setup isn't for everyone...

I love my drags and can go all day, probably 75% of the time I use the passenger pegs. I find this setup MORE comfortable than forwards with high bars but that's just me.

Personally, drag bars are not for me, I just made the switch to 16"apes. WAY more comfortable IMO. It is totally a personal decision. I get an incredible burning sensation between my shoulder blades when I rode with my drags for more than an hour.... But that's just me. Good luck with whatever you decide.

i'm running that size drag bar but on a 3.5" riser. It all comes down to how you feel comfortable. Some people prefer drag bars, some prefer apes. Me personally, I'll be riding to Laughlin in April w/ my set-up, not sure how that'll do on my back. But riding locally for short periods, drags feel fine to me.

I've always prefered straight/drag bars

Schu, has anyone told you lately that you are starting to look a lot like Lemmy?

I rode with my the drag bars that you want on my nightster for about 7,000 miles. 2,400 or so was in 4 days. With the forward controls I found them to be extremely uncomfortable. They would have been a little better with the mids. What I didn't like is they didn't let me adjust my riding stance at all. I always had to slouch. If I sat up straight I couldn't reach the bars.
