Can I ask you a question? I'm thinking of getting the sundowner also. However, I'm 5'6" with forward controls on my 1200c......right now I reach perfectly but I'm wondering with the sundowner's thick padding am I going to get too high up? Any comparisons or thoughts you have would be appreciated. The sundowner does seem to be the way to go price wise also.

Price wise its a great seat. However i enjoyied the stock seat just fine. Took many long trips on it and didn't have a problem. I only got the new seat for my passenger. The seat did take about a week to get use to. I dont think you'll have a problem with reaching the controls though.

I agree, the Sundowner is the way to go. The stock seat is like sitting on a padded plank, the sundowner feels like your favorite overstuffed leather chair.

to captevo.i think you'll have know problem with the seat.i am 5'11" and felt that i was actually closer to the forward controls and not really any farther from the ground.maybe 1/4 to 1/2 at most.as far as getting used to it...took me about a day.instead of having the pressure point on the middle of your butt, right on the bone it is spread out and just makes for a much more comfortable ride

I've got a Sundowner on mine and I think it sits you up a tad higher than stock but nothing to concern yourself over.

It moves you up but also a little forward so you'll be fine. I went back to the stock seat for a day just to see and regretted it after about 30 minutes. I love my sundowner.

You fellows with the stock seats if you carry a female on it you don't think to much of her butt. My son had to ride his buddies to the shop and leave it there for them to work on and he did not like haveing to set on that stock seat again for 72 miles. He put a Sundowner on his and said he don't know how he rode it without one.
