sundowner seat

RE: sundowner seat
Tom,
I'm the exact same size as you.
I sat on my 1200C at the dealership with the OEM seat. From previous reading on this forum I knew I would end up changing the seat.
So before I took delivery I had it changed out for the Sundowner.
No problem being flat footed. Find it very comfortable too.

RE: sundowner seat
Update.
I thought my wife liked the sundowner seat. I guess around the neighborhood wasn't enough to really find out. We went out yesterday afternoon, and she absolutely hated it. She said she is too high and forwardnow on the bike and really really struggled with control. She had me ride it too and I thought it was just me, being over 6 tall. that I felt too constrained (forward) and yes it does raise one.
My question what other seat for a sportster that don't raise one so much or push you forward. Wife is 5"7.

RE: sundowner seat
I got a sundowner after about a month of dealing with the stock seat on my 1200c. It was a night and day difference in the comfort, but I do agree on that it moves you a bit forward. I'm 5'11" and still can easily flat foot the bike and have height to spare, but that sundowner did move me a little forward and it's somewhat cramped now. I will make due though for the padding. My tail bone no longer hurts after 80-90 miles of riding, so I'll live with it until I can get a better seat.

RE: sundowner seat
I bought the Sundownerso thewife could ride, but prefer the stock seat on my Roadster. It's so easy, Ijust change them out when she wants to ride. The Sundowner is confortable enough on my butt, I just don't like the way it moved me closer to the tank and in a hard stop, I tend to slide forward a little easier than the stock. Still a good seat, I just prefer the Roadsters OEM seat.
