Does any one have a backrest for the Sundowner? I am picking my new (1st) Sportster 1200C tomorrow and will order the seat then. Undecided if the backrest (possible with luggage rack) is the way to go?

Also how hard is it to replace the seat?

Bought one for mine on E-bay... Sure is a nice seat. It's very nice for me and very, very nice for the passenger.

The Sundowner is awesome! Dawn loves it especially with the backrest I have, thank god my bud got it on his used 04'1200C or I probably wouldn't have this set up but here is mine, according to the new parts catologue the whole set up is like $900[:-]I gave him my barebones seat & $50 and he named the price so I was happy[8D]It looked horrid on his bikeI'm 5'10" and didn't notice it move me forward at all. I actually sit prety nice, almost perfect with my redwings on

I've been running a stock seat for a year. I didn't really have a problem with it but all of my girlfriends have hinted at how uncomfortable the back seat is. The other day I sat on the back just to see how it feels..... OMG! I've been making girls ride on that! I wouldn't want to ride around the block on that excuse of a back seat! So, I finally got a Sundowner. Not only is it 100 times more comfortable for my passenger but it is a lot more comfortable for me too. I think I'm going to have a lot more endurance on road trips now. The only thing I don't like is it totally changed the appearance of my bike from a hot rod to a cruiser. The good thing though, is that I can convert it back and forth in about three minutes.

Just put the Sundowner on wife's sportster, she is in love with it. I also took it out and what a difference. I also had forwards put on her 1200L and with the new seat it is so much better riding. I think she is going to really like it. Last night she started out and it was funny she was taking off and instantly was raising her feet to mid range, but didn't take her long to adjust. She come back home with a grin on her face and first thing she said I Like It, much better.

So for you guys that switched to the Sundowner seat is it a higher profile seat than the stock seat?

Right now I am flat footed when I put my feet down at a stop on my 1200 Custom, don't think I would like the seat if my feet were not flat on the ground at a stop.

I am 5' 9" 30 in inseam.
