Default Screamin Eagle Clutch

Anybody here ever installed a Screamin Eagle Clutch? I can't get the spring compressed nearly enough to get the retaining rings back in. And I think I've now screwed up the pressure plate by crankin on the compression tool. GEERRRRRRRRR.

OOOOPS.....you just might of screwed the pooch-hope not.

You gotta compress the clutch a little at a time, then come back and compress it a little more, then a little more until there is nuff clearance to install the new spring and retainer......it has to do with squeezing all the oil out from tween the discs and plates.....you gotta let it oooooooze out under the increasing pressure generated by the release tool. The warmer the garage, the sooner you get er done.

sportypig, I screwed up.....I misread your original post. I read it thinking you were only changing to a Screaming Eagle spring, but instead it sounds like you swapped to a Screaming Eagle clutch.

I've installed the spring on several scoots, but never the complete clutch.

Forgive my answer. It doesn't apply.

I've heard some pretty good pipes from an air organ in Broadway theaters.

I guess I deserved that after "stering da pot" with the "Nightster and IRON only crowd" Seems like you just further made my point.
