Well I bought some short shots and have to say I am dissapointed with them. I had python slip ons but I really liked the look of the short shots so I bought some and put em on yesterday. They just sound weak compared to the way my slip ons sounded. My pythons have this deep sound that just sounds like a harley. I really expected the short shots would sound just as good but to me they don't sound no where near the same. Looks like I am gonna be putting my old pipes back on today. Should of listened to the old saying when they say if it ain't broke don't fix it.
While I'm not a big fan of Short Shots, one thing to remember is that new pipes often do not have a that deeper mellow sound you may be use to. That sound typically develops over time as carbon buildups up inside the pipes. Give them some time to "mature".
Sorry to hear that you don't like em. I personally love mine ... loud and nasty. But I would give them a chance man. But to each their own hope you become satisfied with your purchase.

Completely agree, at least give them a few hundred miles before you rule them out.
I personally like the sound of short shots. But with that said I guy I ride with some time has an 883 with 2.25" Rush slip ons and the sound SICK! Nice deep and throaty.
I'm disapointed with my bigshot staggereds on the softail. They do have a similar sound to shortshots, so I think I understand where he's coming from. The bss's distort the sound in my opinion, and I'm going to the older style SEII's to get that harley sound back
