Only full face for me. I have 3 Arai; Quantum/f Okada-2, Profile Wraithen and Corsair-V Jolly Roger. The Arai helmets are fairly expensive, but I find them to be very comfortable.

I wear the Corsair-V Jolly Roger most of the time, it's my favorite.

Could you check your helmet to see what the snell rating year is on this helmet, I'm looking to get a new one for next racing season, and hoping this is a 2005 or 2010 year-rating.

PS, for those who race the 2000 year-rating expires on 12/31/2011 for AHDRA, NHRA & IHRA Technical Inspection.

I went through a bunch looking for something I liked. Right now I mainly wear a Bell custom 500 3/4 . When the temp dips, I've got a Bell Vortex FF.

For eyewear, I'm in love with my Oakley wind jackets. No tears, no fog, and quickly swaps from shades to clear.

I will add my two cents. WE have no helmet laws either but I dont get on without one period. I use a Shoei full face. The drawbacks are that it is hot in the summer and your visability is not the best. If you have a wreck this is what you want on your head. In the cooler months its great but like I said visability is not the best. I constantly look over my shoulder to check my blind spot because I ride a rigid mount and the vibration of the mirrors renders them useless.

Shoei Multitec modular w/ pinlock visor. Works great in the rain - no fogging at all.

I had the same thing happen at about 60 mph. Got hit by a june bug over my eye and it almost knocked me out cold. I had a big dollar helmet at home I was not wearing at the time.. It felt like Mike Tyson punched me and I almost wrecked. That was the last time I got on without a helmet. I thought to myself just how stupid are you and why did you pay all that money for a helmet you are not wearing? It was a wake up call for me.

I used to ear a full face and then moved to a half helmet and love it. The full face created echo that was really annoying and restricted my vision a lot. Now that's cold, I wear a face mask with the half helmet and I'm warmer than when I was wearing a full face with neck warmer.

I wear a HeadTrip natural chrome half helmet when really hot, otherwise, the sweet new matte black 2011 Bell Star (fantastic helmet).
