Can any of these be mounted in the front of the frame versus on the side? Mine is in the front in the frame.

Wow necrothreadia, but since you mentioned it, I just got backed up into in my cage today waiting to leave a gas station. This woman cuts in front of me without looking as we're leaving. (Mistake 1) She pulled out too far and had her nose in the oncoming lane so decided to quickly back up. (Mistake 2) She never looked (Mistake 3) and I had nowhere to go but my horn. Didn't do any good. Not only did she not hear it, she didn't even look as she backed up in panic mode. Had I been on my bike, she would've caused many hundreds of $ worth of damage. Probably my mistake for being too close and not being attuned closely enough to her first 2 blunders before getting hit by her third error.. so another lesson learned. A horn ain't gonna help. And neither is reving your engine. As a rider you need to be acutely aware of your surroundings.

I have a Wolo on my 08 1200C, and it is VERY loud, I hooked mine up with a relay so all that power was not going through my horn button. ( I kept the stock horn also ) It's chrome and I have it on my crash bar. I think it looks great. Hope that helps. Ride safe.

The Stebel Air horn is 139 db. As flat4fan mentioned, most people don't react to horns but this horn is fun. My wife's scooter actually came with this standard and it's actually as loud, if not louder, as my sporty's pipes. Here's a link that tells more about it.

Thats what I have on my Softail and it is loud. It aint the prettiest thing in the world but I like the sound. Heres a sound clip with comparison of a pretty typical bike horn. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuakT7YK0kU
