i know its an older thread but i have to say either i missed something or someone needs to say you don't open your derby cover when the bike is leaning on its kickstand. it needs to be level or you'll loose fluid which doesn't matter if your replacing it but it does matter when you refill it if the bike isn't level when you refill it you'll be short on trans fluid. if I'm wrong someone please correct me
when dealing with all fluids bike should be completely upright after you remove the neg cable from the battery
