the blinker still works but it seems like it is shorting out. When I started the bike today, the right signal/running light when full on (both filaments). It went off but would flicker and go back on when i reved the bike. Anyone have any idea what this could be? the left blinker works fine but just the right one has a mind of its own. seems like some wires are crossed because sometimes the blinker will work perfectly. and sometimes the light is on but the "signal" filament will shutter, go full on, then completely off.

It's probably a crushed wire under the control clamps. It's really hard to diagnose some electrical problems even when you're looking at them - which I'm not.

Tap the signal light with the handle of a screwdriver and see if it flickers. If not, then look for crushed wires under the control on the right.

Does the signal indicator also flash when the signal goes screwy?

Good luck.

no, when it is going screwy it just does the flickering. when it seems stable, not flickering in and out, it will either be off or in blink sequence.. Whichever one was selected.

Default Hi there

I had a similiar problem, mine were the wires that ran under the seat across the tube of frame so the weight distribution on the seat caused them to come on randommlly,Seriouslly funstrating because all my fault tracing/ finding happened to be when i was not on the damn seat.
I rounded the flattened wires and put some of that spiral cable joiners around to eliminate the flattening.
hope this helps.

I accidentally pinched some wires running under the rear fender. This caused turn signals to work crazily and my speedometer to go nuts. The wires had to be fixed of course and now everything is working as it should.
