Default Vibtrating mirrors on a sportster

I have a 2003 1200C Sportster. I changed the original mirrors because I have trouble seeing to the sides and behind. I tried the extensions and also one's with a little longer arm but they vibrate like crazy. Any suggestions to ease up on the vibration or even a differant type of mirror?

I'm going to move this down to the sportster section where you will likely get more help.

2003 ???? Vibration ?????

Bwahahahahahaha
Let me guess, FIRST Harley ?????????

FYI, IF you had a pan or a shovel, at night, ALL you know is that there is SOMETHING behind you (LIGHTS) . Could be another scoot, could be an 18 wheeler.

NO offense, Sir, but THAT'S what folx idolize 'bout the "NEW" Harleys, LESS VIBRATION !!!!!

Find a buds that has an ol' Ironhead Sporty. Take it for 100 mile 'spin'. That 03 IS A DREAM RIDE !!!!!!!!!

Now, for the mirrors, hope you can 'see' them.

I get the ones WITHOUT the screws in the back. I believe (????? Ol' fart's disease) we got these at Dennis Jerk. These are on the shovel, and I CAN SEE behind me, with these.

If you're saying that you can't see behind you because your shoulders/arms are in the way, the mirrors aren't set correctly. If it's because of vibration, I hate to say this, but on the pre 04 sportsters, the mirrors are orniments. Longer mirror stems just amplify the vibrations. To set the mirrors correctly/better, set them so that the "ball" on back of the mirror is in line with the ball on the ends of the clutch/brake levers. That should help seeinf something behind you while rideing. I hope this helps.

You might try inserting a pair of VIBRANATORS inside the handlebars. They will help a bit to minimize the intensity of the vibrations. About $100.00 for the pair. They just had a 1/2 price sale and I bought another pair. I likey.

My step dad's 02 883 has a set of DS long steam mirrors on it and they are point less. I have one mirrior on my bike and it's just for looks-can't see with it. you get use to looking back.

I tacked a very heavy solid piece of round stock that runs from the tips of the bars all of the way to the first bend (on my wife's 03). They still vibrate a little bit but it's MUCH better than before.

Ah ,they do vibrate and the longer the mirror arm the more shaking you will get.I have a crazy suggestion that I have seen done by others to help cut down some of the vibrations here they are.Fishing a piece of rubber hose through the bars to help cushin the vibs and my favorite was pumping the bars full of silicone caulk and it acting like a vibration dampner.
