Yes its very common. Plenty of posts on this topic. Had to have mine replaced 1 month out of warranty coverage...dealer cut me a break and split the bill 50/50. No big deal.

yeah that sucks man but it is common. should be happin alot though, if it happens again to the same rocker might be an issue but i highly doubt it.

i don't know if your warenty covers that kinda stuff, if it does have them fix it, if not, its 4 bolts you can def do it yourself and save the money. good luck with it

Yeah, happened on my '09 Iron as well, as mentioned in another thread. When I took it in for the 5k service, they took care of it no questions asked. I would imagine that since people have been mentioning it a lot lately, it's a common issue. Maybe the factory gaskets were shitty or they didn't prep them properly or perhaps it's all part of the break-in process. Either way the dealer should take care of it.

the rocker boxes on both jugs of the wife's Iron were seeping oil. The dealer cleaned the bike first, then said they couldn't find the leak, so I left with it with no work done....

Take a 7/16 box wrench and tighten the bolts about 1/8 turn. Works almost every time. Takes less than 5 minutes.
