Question Bassani dB levels?

Anyone know what the decibel levels are on the Bassani Radial Sweepers? I know that many states have noise ordinances, and they might not be legal. I want these pipes for my Iron 883 mainly because the way they look and because I want to wrap them with red heatwraps...unless someone knows of some better pipes that will do the same job.

Well, it all kind of dependson what you mean by "better". Bassani makes some quality parts, and I doubt those pipes are going to be anything short of loud. It just depends on what you are looking for. Other pipes that are swept like that? Performance? What job do you want these pipes to do?

Like he said above, what "job" is it you want the pipes to do? Do you want sound, performance, or both? A longer pipe or a 2 into 1 pipe will yield better power than a short pipe, but a short pipe will louder.

Thanks for the replies. What I'm most concerned about is the look. The pipes themselves aren't going to make much of a difference to me as far as performance is concerned. I like the Bassani's more than any other because the way they look, especially when they have colored wraps. I'm just concerned that they may be too loud for state noise ordinance...that's why I'm asking if anyone knows the decibel levels they produce. I've never heard them in person, only on youtube. I do appreciate the feedback though, thank you.

Oh, and by better I meant, look awesome, and be able to be wrapped, yet still legal noise levels. Last thing I need is a ticket for something that retarded.

Do you know what the db limit is for where you live? And I guess more important than that, do you think a cop that's pulled you over for loud pipes is going to listen to your argument your pipe's are only say 94db when the limit is 97? My advice to you would be to head down to some of the local bike shops and ask around about the area police. Are they strict on pipes? Laidback? Do they only bother you if you're just laying into the throttle all over town? Having a db number is great, but even if you come in a little under the "legal limit", if a cop pulls you over for it you're still going to have to go to court to fight it I bet.

I was looking at V&H, but I put the Bassani sweepers on mine simply because I LOVE the way the look. They are loud, yes. No idea of the DB level and living in Cali, I am probably breaking the law, but no problems yet! See/hear the pipes on my bike in the video below:
