Default Indicators!!!!

Hi, could do with some help here.

I was on a ride today, when I noticed my left indicator was stuck on. I tried to turn it off with the switch but it didn't work so I pulled over and turned the engine off. When I turned the bike back on it had turned the indicator off (obviously) but it wouldn't then turn it on. I've had the switch housing apart but can't really see anything a miss (i am a newbie though) and had a look at the plug and nothing seems loose.

At one point when I had pulled up at a cafe on my way home I turned the bike on and it worked momentarily but wouldn't turn back on after I'd switched it off...

Any ideas? I really don't want to take it to the dealer again.

check your bulbs first, put new ones in . If thet doesn't do it, it is most likely the switch. . check the plastic switch cover for any cracks . Mine was cracked on the bottom and did the same thing.

It's an '09 sportie, nothing seems cracked or broken. I'm lost.

No, not working at all.

Both sets of the left hand side (front and rear), and the right one is behaving fine!

When I first got my 07 the signals would come on by themselves or not at all when I used the switch or sometimes worked fine, turned out to be the TSSM (turn signal security module), dealer changed it out and it's worked fine since.
It did take three trips to the dealer because it always worked fine there but after some arguing I got them to change it just to see and it worked.

Look to make sure your wiring isn't pinched where it's coming out of your handlebars.

Not sure what sportie you have but, if it's lowered look under the rear fender you could have rubbed through the wiring.
