Default Paughco springer on a xl1200 custom

does anyone have any helpful hints on replacing stock forks with springer front end. I have a fork lock and am curious to see how people have taken care of that issue. Any photos of a paughco springer on a sporty would be greatly appreciated.

Default helpful hint

I got a helpful hint for you... do not do it. Nothing in the world looks like a Springer... and nothing in the world rides as hard as a Springer. Unless you have ridden a Springer before I would not throw one on without first riding one. If you do like them then a paughco one should fit like a charm though you will never be able to lock them.

Theres more work to it then you think, slackster did one on his nightster, here is the link to some pix

If you like it, dont let anyone tell you that they look or ride bad, you asked for help here, not criticism.

My personal opinion is that I love the look of a factory style springer, not the cheep girder crap..
I think that spingers ride softer than forks.
Find some picts of already done bikes and ask the owners what they had to do.

Keep us in the loop!

Default Go for it

A girder and a springer are two different front ends, and I used to ride a 66 triumph with a 14" over springer on a goose neck and rigid frame rode fine, handled pretty good also.
