I've been trying to find used ones too. I found one for $7,800 or so, but at the time, I was just going to buy new for $8,600 OTD.

I can't find any, I've tried craigslist (I look everyday) and cycletrader. Good luck!

I'm selling my 2009 for $7,600. It has over $2000 in upgrades though. I'm in Western New York. It has just under 1200 miles and has had the 1000 mile service done. Here are the upgrades:

- HD forward controls

- HD 12" mini apes

- HD throttle, brake, clutch, and wiring extensions

- Vance and Hines shortshots staggered black

- Vance and Hines Fuel Pak

- Screaming Eagle stage 1 Air intake

- Stock seat was redone by Mean City Cycles

Here are a couple pics if you're at all interested.

before i got the nightster, i was also in the market for an iron. asked every dealer in georgia, SC, and alabama. everyone wanted sticker price + ridiculous doc fees ($8600~), and no one actually had a black one. the best offer i got was from stone mtn ga (they were really bending over backwards for me, i have nothing but good things to say about them), but they still couldnt actually *find* an iron. craigslist was no help either, and i tried pretty much ever major city in the aforementioned states.

for whatever reason, the iron seems to be overly sought after and under stocked. be willing to pay a premium, or "settle" for a nightster. (fwiw, im very glad i opted for the nightster. for an 07 nightster with 8000mi and some decent upgrades, i paid about what i wouldve for an 09 stock iron.)

good luck!

edit: if you dont mind getting a silver one, those can (err, could, as of september) be found at a lot of places. savannah ga had two of em and were trying desperately to get me to buy one of them.

thanks guys. someone had also made a obvious comment to me in a private message that i had totally forgot about is the trade in deal they are having with sportsters right now so obviously if they are giving people what they paid for them there arent gonna be reasonable priced used ones but i had totally forgot about that so thanks

Why not get a different sportster that's a little older? There are plenty of great harleys out there for $6k. Just because you cant get an iron you have decided against a harley? Get an older 883 and black it out.
