Default Any good oil for an XL1200?

My dad owns a modded 1200, and I was wondering about what kind of motor oil is recommended for it, preferrably something cheap yet reasonable.

This topic has been beat to death and a search would show the numerous threads started about which oil to use & all the debates. But I'd say most people will just end up telling you a good but cheap oil will be the 5QT jug of Mobil-1 synthetic 15W50 that you can get at Walmart for about $25. That's what I use along with the HD oil filter due to it having the 30 micron filtering for the EVO engines. All the other filters that will fit use a lower 5 or 10 micron screen that essentially send the filter into by-pass mode and do not end up filtering you oil.

If I remember correctly......the final decision in the last thread on this subject (just a few days ago), the last thing mentioned was velveeta.

I thought the wesson oil was the final choice.

Well, the OL prefers the Mobil 1 if we're out of KY.

Sorry for the bump and my apparent noobishness, but I'm asking for oil with climate conditions in mind, being that my dad and I live in the Philippines. Does it have to do with lubrication choices?
