Any progress in the last ten years on the Buell Front End Question, as I'm calling it?

The question is 16 years old. Poster hasn’t been here in 6 yrs. Your first post, and not a worthy one.

I'm embarrassed to say that this sort of thing no longer surprises me . There is a minority on here who can turn this otherwise friendly forum into a tedious pecking party at the least provocation . I was once described as an " Uppity Limey " for expressing a forthright opinion in words of more than two syllables . Worse still , I was accused of being an imposter who couldn't possibly own a Harley Davidson ! Welcome to the forum from the Heart of England .

A bit of a rough start...

You should make a small presentation of yourself at:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/welcome-area-only-4/

Other forum members appreciate that.

There is nothing wrong with waking up an old thread but do not expect an answer from someone that no longer is a part of the forum.

So, Welcome to the forum.

Very soon you will be welcomed by the official moderators.

I've never really been a part of a forum before so I appreciate the help. I was watching a guy from the Hoonigan team do a GSX-R front end swap on his Dyna, and that inspired me to fix my front end on my Sporty. I came from riding Honda and Kawasaki my whole life, and this is my first Harley, so I was a little scared of how the front end shakes like an alcoholic in the morning. This was one of the first threads to pop up in my search. I'm sorry to upset anyone's apple carts, I'm new to the culture. I appreciate those who defended me, because I knew it was an old post but it was also the most recent post on the internet. It's been 20 years, and I had hoped someone had a solution that didn't cost $6k.

Y'know it's hard to understand why someone who just joined "Join Date 02-18-2021" would be so harsh on a person for being new. We don't all arrive here at the same time. Some of us are still young, and inexperienced, myself included. I was never told off for riding a Honda, or a Kawasaki, but the minute, the very first time, I find a thing that freaks me out about my bike and ask for help from my elders in the Harley world I'm "not worthy"? Yo, if that's how you feel, I am not sure I want to be a part of the culture, so miss me on that.

This site ain't so bad. There's others who would soundly condemn you for even thinking of 'butchering your hog'.

Should be several threads here and elsewhere on inverted forks on a Sportster, GSXR and Buell are easy and common (relatively I guess). I had some links at one time for a site that pretty much broke it all down. I might look for it if I have time.

You might look at STORZ PERFORMANCE MOTORCYCLE ACCESSORIES

Unless you have a cheap source for something else, it might be cheaper in the long run.

Oh yeah, most of the forum is composed of trolls, including the Admin and Moderators. You can hardly answer a legitimate question.

You'll just have to weather the storm or look elsewhere for answers.

Here's a YouTube video of a GSXR front end being installed on a Dyna Glide, sorry it's not a Sportster but the principal will be the same.
