wanabe, I've really enjoyed reading about your first road trip. Once the weather warms up here in New York I plan on taking my first road trip too.

I also appreciated the advice the guys have given here and on your other thread....they know their stuff, that's for sure.

just returned from the "return trip"- much easier for a few reasons:
1. my electrical problems are fixed
2. wind was not in my face (the normal freeway wind was but there was not a strong wind adding to that)- didnt mind the freeway wind
3. i found a nice canyon ride to cut off some of the freeway on the way back- what a difference! roads were a bit more bumpy, but the scenery and twisties were great. kept my speed down and really enjoyed that part of the ride
4. no more fear of the open road.

got home, let the bike cool down and spend some qualiity time detailing it.
all around wonderful experience, even with the few problems i encountered.
