rigid struts on sportster

I have them on mine, and they are just a a solid pieces of steel usually. As far as the ride they aren't too bad unless you hit a pot hole or those big humps where the seams meet in the road. Hitting those things on a rigid will wake your kidneys up real quick. Having mids helps with this because you can just stand up before you hit them if you can't avoid them.

i did a search but couldn't really find anything on the ride or comfort of them, could've been a case of too much information coming back that i couldn't find what i was looking for. the ones i got were like $30 so if they suck i'll just take them off. i was curious on how the ride is though, i'm not touring cross country on the bike anyway.

mikeingoshen.. do yourself a favor and do not use cheap *** struts... imagine if the welds on both sides fail while going 80 mph and hitting a bump.. it can easily be fatal.. go cheap on mirrors.. grips.. light bulbs.. not on the extremely important rear suspension... just my 2 cents
I cant stand when people come into the shop and are like...can i get a price on your cheapest brake pads for my gsxr1000? GREAT IDEA FOR A BIKE THAT GOES ALMOST 200MPH...
Ive got solid struts on my bike and they are machined out of billet alluminum...top quality with absolutely no welds...and they are nice and thick...just like me...so i know they wont break on me...

If your riding is limited to around town, and 30 miles or so a day max then yeah, go for it....it's a cool look and if I had a second bike it would be a rigid sporty with a sucide shifter....
