Default interesting item on 07 model sporty pipes

i was looking at the H-D webiste to see if they had any new pipes or slip ons for 07 that might fit my bike. there is only one aftermarket muffler offered at this time for the 07 XL. it is a street legal so called factory tuned muffler that meets all epa crap. all the good mufflers were for the 06 and earlier. curious what vance and hines and the other guys will offer.

That's exactly why I'm glad I bought my 06 a few months ago instead of holding out for the 07!

Any word if the '07's actually have oxygen sensors in the pipes? If so, there's something else to complicate things.

I havent heard but there's another sensor to go bad and cost $300 to replace and another reason why it's better to keep things simply on a bike....

I've read somewhere in a dealer's doc that Sporties EFI will be just like the 06 dynas...closed-loop and with O2 sensors in the pipes

I think O2 sensors are required to support fuel injection... it tells the computer how well the fuel is burning (rich/lean).

You are correct you can't run efi without feedback from O2 sensors. Both cylinders will have to be monitored. It will get worse guys this is just the beginning.I stated on here several times that HD wasn't going to make loud pipes. The next step will be a second O2 sensor in each pipe to monitor convertor efficiency. So when that comes around you will have four O2 sensors on a efi bike. The end of owner tweaking is around the corner. This is exactly the same path that happened with cars. You may be able to tweak a little if you have unlimited funds. Most people do not and that is what the epa is counting on.Next step emission testing. Then comes the real fun all the bikes that have been tweaked will need to be returned to stock if they fail before they can try to pass a second test.I do emission testing on cars and can tell you the green weenies won't stop until you have to push your bike and your car. Then they will start on the amount of co2 you produce if you ride a bicycle. They are real nut cases. They are already complaining about the amount of co2 car expels. They got rid of co,nox and hydrocarbons so all that is left to bitch about is co2.Did a beer ever kill you.Poisionous stuff that co2 that pumps that beer out of a tap.Sorry about ranting guys but I follow this crap to see where it's leading and the outlook is not good.

Come on over to the Dyna forum and search on our work with the closed loop systems. We have it down and can help with the closed loop system, tune it, and get some performance with the SERT which is the only way to go in my book. It's not too bad at all....just need the knowlege to tackle it and a few bucks.

CO2 is a natural biproduct in the fermentation of sugars. It is the waste of the yeast cells. The yeast eats the sugars in the grain and poops out CO2 and alcohol. You are right, they use CO2 to push it throught the lines to a tap, but it's not why beer has CO2 in it. Another thing about CO2, is that plants use it for respiration, so we should just plant more trees. CO2 is a MAJOR contributer to environmental problems, but there are soooo many, any Greeny can simply choose their poison. Beer has killed many, many people but they were probably drunk and smiling when they went!
