Default Springer Sportster

I got my wife a 2006 XL 883 C. She wants Springer forks put on the front.
I'm a Truck mechanic, so I'm pretty handy with a wrench. How difficult would it be for me to replace the forks having never done it before? About how long would it take? And is there anything that i need to get besides whats on the bike? Where can i find torque specs. And are the Milwaukee twins springers any good?

Any springer front end will not work on the 04 and later Sporties. You have to buy one that is made for those models. The DNA is not a bolt on mod for these models. Paughco makes one that will bolt right up.

My buddies got a springer on his nightster. He lopped off the head tube to make it work with a DNA springer. Helluva lot cheaper but, alot of work.

Once this is done, how is it going to affect the handling i.e. corners?

I was looking at the springer front ends offered by Demons cycles. He said it's a bolt on fit for 04 and up sportsters. $650.00. Does anyone have any experience with this front end?
