Nice Sporty!! I bought my Sportster last year from Chopper Dave at Cowboy HD. I think your mods so far look great. I would also be interested in relocating my front blinkers. Ride Safe!! -Dave.

Hey fellas, relocated the turn signals and installed some 10" Z-bars from Licks.

Turn Signals: After relocating them to the forks via a Drag Specialties part, I gotta find a cleaner way to arrange/hide the wires for the turn signals.

Mini-Apes/Z-bars:

For the 'initial' install no new cables were needed however, I'm planning to wire my bars internally and will have to get the wiring harness extension from Drag Specialties for around 35 bucks. Snip there, snip here, solder this, solder that and I hear that's it.
You will also need a new front brake line in the long run, for the time being I just unbolted the hard line from the lower triple, looks like crap but it'll have to do for now.

Riding with the 10" bars feel way more of a comfortable ride and I hit a 40mile commute to work everyday on this bad boy on the SoCal Express Lanes. Wind factor wasn't really bothersome at all and I'm not a big guy. just a mere 5'7" 170lbs. but having these bars just feel more comfortable than having those stock drag bars. Hope this helps Crazynutz.

thanks for the info 54... but..
That looks to be a nightster... the 1200 sportster...
The cables should be long enough stock to reach the mini apes change over...
but for the iron 883 i've read i need to buy longer cables -extensions - for brake
and idle/throttle... which are way expensive --- but hey what isn't these days...

1.) I am wondering if there is anyone who did a write up with pics if possible on chaniging out the front turn signals to the lower fork clamps???
2.) Also a write up with pics if possible about changing out the drag bars for mini apes and what materials were used -cables- and best price for cables and if cables are even needed???

here are some stats and pics to wet your whistle...

Stage 1 Kit w/ Vance & Hines blacked-out Shorty Duals
Screamin’ Eagle Monster Air Breather
Forward Control Kit
Progressive Lowering Kit
Rallyrunner Seat by Harley plus passenger pegs
Genuine H-D Billet-style Diamond Black grips, shifter peg/brake pedal, & rider/passenger pegs

I am also going to relocate the front turn signals and maybe do some apes... haven't decided yet...
she is a beaut.... my love Irene...
When I had my 06 1200c, I moved the turn singles to the forks.
It is not that hard. Follow the directions. If you have to cut your wires, make sure you have some shrink tube, and the smallest straight male/female connects you can get. The instructions that come with the fork brackets are decent.
It really does clean it up.

Before

After

Before

After - at this point I added drag bars

I like the sadlebags! Very retro looking. Where did you get them?

Also, how do you have the large bag strapped down? It doesn't look like there's any sissy bar on your bike.
