Default 07 FX wheel mod

How about a 160 tire, 4.5 wheel on an 01 Sporty with 530 chain.

Doing alittle mock up and looks like after I clearance the fender the hard part is done.

Here's a few pic's

Looks good. What are your plans to overcome the fender clearance issue?

Ditto what mreed said! Just look at that one tab in the pic of the right side with turn signal, one bump and your tearing rubber off that tire.

I'm saving that for last

Going to pull the fender off tonight and see what needs to be done. I may spread the struts about an 1/4 of and inch and switch to some flathead or taper screws. If there's some protruding boss heads on the struts I may cut them down too ??

Got the offset pulley bolted on and had to space out the rear sprocket another .100 and it's good to go. As long as the axle is haffway back or more there's no clearance issues with the front area of the swingarm.

I think she's starting to look good

I like it alot. The problem I think I'll have with mine is that it's so low. I like em low so I'll need to do something...still trying to do it without a "kit".

Yours looks killer though. The 160 fills the fender perfectly.

Thanks, I needed to go to the 13 inch shock to keep me from bottom out or draging the oem mufflers when 2 up.

Use a jack to spread the struts out alittle and a spring compresser to keep the ends of the struts from bowing out. The only PITA was the bracket under the fender that supports the license plate, that took the longest to widen and re-adjust the mounting tabs. Then trying to fit it back inside the fender, I could of use a 3rd hand.

I put it all back together and the rightside is good to go but the leftside just need alittle more work and I should be done.

THANK YOU. I started a thread asking for pics exactly like that. I've made a jig that fits my rails exactly the way they are and can index to 8.5" to square it back after I spread the frame....

I just kept turning the jack around and working each side alittle as not to stress or crack anything. In that pic I'm at 8 inches wide from starting from 7 oem inches.

Don't go crazy with the pressure and take your time or you might need a welder.

Used the jack one more time and now has plenty of clearance and bolted it back together. Really can't tell what was done.

Still need to turn the tire around

Sweet! What's your tooth count on your sprockets? And where did you get your front sprocket? How much is it (the front sprocket) offset? Sorry for drilling you. I'm super close to ordering my rear sprocket that matches my wheel style but it only come in one tooth count.
